Window Installation Commercial Glazing Cherry Picker Office
Service
Commercial Glazing
Duration
5 working days
Project value
£21,000
Scope
Window replacement & re-sealing, external access

Project Overview

An office building in Nottingham was having a run of outdated single-glazed windows replaced with modern double-glazed units to improve comfort and reduce heating costs. With the windows spread across an upper floor and no balcony access, a cherry picker was used to reach each opening from outside.

The Work

Our glazing team worked window by window from the cherry picker, minimising internal disruption:

  • Positioned a cherry picker to give safe external access to each window opening
  • Removed the existing single-glazed window units from each frame
  • Installed new double-glazed units into the existing openings, checking for square and level
  • Sealed all frame perimeters with weatherproof sealant to prevent draughts and water ingress
  • Fitted new trims and beading to match the building's existing external appearance
  • Cleaned all new glazing on completion of each window

The office building now benefits from improved comfort and reduced energy loss through its windows:

  • A full run of upgraded double-glazed windows across the affected elevation
  • Improved thermal comfort and reduced draughts reported by building occupants
  • No internal scaffold or access equipment required inside the office
  • Completed in 5 working days using external cherry picker access only
