Project Overview

A high-rise commercial building in Nottingham city centre had several curtain wall panels showing signs of seal failure, causing draughts and occasional water ingress on upper floors. With the building fully occupied, scaffolding the elevation wasn't practical, so the works were planned entirely around rope access.

The Work

Our rope access team worked systematically down the elevation, floor by floor:

  • Rigged rope access anchor points from roof level down the full height of the elevation
  • Surveyed each curtain wall panel to identify failed seals and damaged glazing units
  • Removed and replaced failed insulated glass units within the existing curtain wall framework
  • Stripped out and replaced perished perimeter seals across affected panels
  • Re-sealed all glazing joints to the original curtain wall specification
  • Tested repaired panels for draughts and water ingress before moving to the next section
